newmodeus has what appears to be a compatible 9.5mm superdrive to hard drive replacement for the unibody macbooks on their site now.

Seems to be a rather solid and economical solution compared to MCE's $129 Optibay and using some electrical tape and sata/power cables.

At the bottom of the page it notes they won't ship until the third week of april.
