Hi guys i have mini sata power cable that i would like to connect to my sound card that needs molex this is the only power cable that i have free. So basically i need a cable between mini sata to normal sata. Now mini sata that in the pic that is male what i need is mini female sata to normal size sata?
Does the computer have any regular SATA power connectors or Molex power connectors? It would be a lot easier to find a standard splitter. Using it for both an existing drive and the card. Than in would be to find slimline SATA power male to Molex Female.
Edit: I don't even know if it is possible. Slimline appears to just use the red power cable which is usually +5V while Molex uses Red and Yellow. Which should be +5V and +12V. Upon looking up the standard. It appears slimline only uses +5V. So it would not work.
Edit 2: You are probably going to end up wanting a splitter like this. As your HDD likely uses SATA. This splits from SATA to one Molex and one SATA. You'll want to know the power draw of the sound card. As molex power can handle more watts than SATA power. If the power draw of the card is too high. It could melt the SATA connector. Especially since most of these adapter use cheap molded SATA power connectors and not the more robust crimped connectors. https://www.amazon.com/CGTime-6-Inch-Cablefor-Serial-Adapter/dp/B01MPXWI85/
