I have a tough ask, but what is the slimmest, yet protective case for the 12 Pro Max? I plan on adding a screen protector too. The phone is already a monster, so I’m not trying to add a ton more to it.

Check out the Caudabe Sheath. I have it for my XS Max, 11 PM, and 12 PM. The 12 PM currently have some issues where it doesn’t fit snuggly. Caudabe support said they should have the new batches with the fix ready in 2 weeks. Contact them first.

Last year, 1 day after I got my 11 PM my 3 year old thought it would be funny to jump and smack my phone out of my hands. She succeeded. Knocked my phone out of my hands at around a height of 5’. My brand new 11 PM flew out of my hands and fell flat on its back onto the hardwood floor. The way it fell and the sound it made you would assume it was kaput. No damages at all. I had the Caudabe Sheath and a glass screen protector on.

How is your now 4 year old adapting to her new foster home? 😁

I just had a look at these despite having ordered several different cases to try. I think I'll be adding one of these in the future, they look great. Thanks for the suggestion.

How much leather you got ?
As of right now, two Nomads and a Mujjo on the way that would get here Friday. I also had the apple saddle brown, but because of corner-gate I returned it. I’ll also be trying Senna, Vaja and Decoded. I want a premium leather that will age well. So far, the Nomad has taken the cake because of the Horween leather. It’s just bulky and the sides are tpu/tpe. If the entire case was Horween leather, we’d have a winner.

Definitely looks interesting. I may drop all of my leather case endeavors and try the slim pitaka. Seems to hold up well to drops even though it’s so slim.
Carbon fiber is strong. I dropped my 11 pro over 5 times on hard surfaces with it on and not a scratch. It also repairs itself from small dings.

Still, the case itself is very open, exposing the buttons and top and bottom areas.

It may be controversial, but I like the Speck Presidio Grip. I have the clear one. I was torn between that and the Otterbox Symmetry Clear but went with Speck because it was thinner. I too didn't want to add extra bulk tot he phone. I also bought to because of the grip it has and the drop protection. The Speck presidio without the grip is extremely slippery.

Its the same concept as having a raised lip. Yes the screen isn't covered but it would be very hard for it to hit a surface. The right parts are protected and thats all that is needed. Cheap plastic, even in full coverage will let your phone be dented.

Pitaka is aramid fiber which is supposedly different than carbon fiber. I have no idea, but some of the drop tests on YouTube are pretty intense.

That is my reservation with the case as well. In particular the bottoms. I understand the case itself is very strong. Certainly it looks fantastic. I personally prefer more coverage on the frame.

I picked up a Symmetry Clear when I got my phone. It's difficult to take off/put on and the buttons are more difficult than they need to be to press. There is no tactile feel to them. It is very protective though.

Second this - Caudabe Sheath. I'm normally always an Apple OEM case guy (usually leather), but I got the Caudabe for my 12 Pro Max after trying one out with my XR/11.

The grip is very good! I suppose drop protection is adequate. I don't drop my phone that often, and I do have AC+, so that kind of protection is not my top priority.

I just want something that doesn't add any bulk, has great grip, and doesn't pick up fingerprints or pocket dust/lint. So far, the Caudabe Sheath is checking all those boxes.

Caudabe looks like the way to go. I ordered a different case on Amazon to get me by until I can get a sheath case.
