Slinglink + iMac (time Capsule)

Hello all. Brand new to the Imac. I have a 500Gb Time Capsule with it, and am trying to connect my slingbox through the slinglink device. So far, no luck. I have tried connecting it through the ethernet port on the time capsule as well as the ethernet port on the back of the computer. When it is connected to the back of the computer, in "network preferences" I can at least see that it is connected, bu tI get the message "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect."

So, what do I need to do? and can I not connect it to the ethernet port of the time capsule?
