Hi guys,
For the last 12 months or so, I have been experiencing slow start up times on my late 2016 15" MBP with Touch Bar 512gb.
I had FileVault turned on, and thought that may have been the reasoning for the slow start up times. When I turned the MBP on, it would pretty quickly bring up the login screen however once I put the password it, it would take about 30secs to actually load and come to the home screen (ready to use) - I thought this may have something to do with FileVault.
Last night, I decided to turn FileVault off, to see if I could get quicker log in times, however it is just as long, if not longer..
Now when I turn the MBP on, I get the Apple logo come up with a white loading bar under the logo, this sits on the screen for about 30secs then the login screen comes up for me to enter the password. Once the password is entered, the home screen comes up pretty quick. I have just timed how long it takes from when I press the power on button, until I am at the home screen and able to use the MBP. It took exactly 45secs. This to me, sounds far too long..
Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Does anyone have any tips on what may be causing the long start up times and how I can resolve it? I have only used the hard drive is only 50% full & nothing is plugged into the MBP.
When I first got the MBP, I am sure it only took about 15secs to fully log in and start using..
TIA
