My black mb is SOOOOOO SLOOOOOWWWW at times. What could be causing this? I get the wheel of death when I try to pull up web pages ot work on documents. What gives?

512MB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) on two SO-DIMMs

80 gig hard drive...

512mb of RAM is not enough. Try upgrading it to 1.25GB, and you would see a hell of a difference.

How much HD space you have left?

^---Do this.

You can get a 1GB module for about $30 at newegg.com

I just got 2GB for less than $70. The performance is great even with parallels up in the background with windows running a movie! :)

How do I tell how much I have left? I know how in windows, but not on the Mac... How do I optimize performance?

Right click your Mac HD and select "Get Info".

Onyx is a good app to optimize your Mac. But I am 99.99% certain that it is the RAM that is making you Mac slow.
