iPhone 11 Pro Slow camera launch on 11 Pro Max

Picked my up on Friday. 256gb. Really like it. But, I am finding the camera app launches slowly from the lock screen. And then when it does launch, if I haven’t used the camera for a while, I get a black screen for a good second before I can use it. Anyone else having similar issues? Sounds trivial but in practice very annoying.

Thisnis also one of the areas where I’ll miss force touch - worked well on the camera icon from the lock screen.
 
I been having the same issues from the start. I'm heading over to the Apple store tomorrow for answers. Its very annoying, sometimes i have to wait 15 secs for the camera to pop up or the screen is blank/black and I have to reboot the phone.

It does sound massively trivial. A total first world problem.
Are you that busy and so short on time that 1 second makes that much of a difference to you?
Gosh, mine takes a second as well, but you know what, it doesn’t matter at all.
It takes much longer for you to take your phone out of your pocket.
I wonder why anyone bothers buying iPhones anymore. All they do is moan and whinge about every little detail that in reality don’t make any difference at all.
Just my opinion, but really, we are talking about 1 second!!!!!
By the time you’ve pressed the button to open the camera app and brought the phone up to take the picture, the app is open. It’s not a problem at all.

Sounds like a serious software issue. Did you try to setup as new (compare the time with a clean slate) and restore from your backup, yet? Otherwise I would expect more people already complaining here.
 
I had it on two iPhone Pro Max iPhones... the time I have to wait for the camera to open is not the same every time...
