One of my Macs has been very slow to connect to one of my Airport networks when waking from sleep. Sometimes it would take as long as a minute to find it and connect. Very frustrating.

I went into System Preferences>Network>Clicked Airport>Advanced>Airport tab.

It contained a long list of wifi networks. I deleted a bunch of them and then saw that it said to drag your preferred network to the top of the list. Once I did that, I connect almost instantly to my network when waking from sleep.

Hope this helps others.
