Slow data after jailbreak?

I'm pretty new to the iPhone scene and I'm trying to understand this. I was getting a solid 5mb down before I jail broke in my home and now I can barely break 2mb. Can jailbreaking slow your data? I haven't downloaded any potential tweaks that would slow data down. I have a speed test (all done in my home) and I just don't get it.

Last question, my bars fluctuate badly but is that how iPhones work? It loses data at times depending on how I'm holding it. thanks

It will vary with cell tower use.

That being said, I have noticed no difference in speed with a JB.

Signal bars mean absolutely nothing.

Try rebooting your iPhone, that gives it a clean connection to the network.

Jailbreaking alone has no impact to the performance of the phone.
Once you start installing things is when you run the risk of degrading performance.

No probs here on my JB 4S.
Speed is still up there around 5-6mbps.

It is probably a degraded tower in your area. Try doing speedtest in other areas of town. Has there been recent storms in your area? Jailbreak usually will not affect speed. My phone does great everywhere but my home. Had really bad tornado last April and reception in home hasn't been the same.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I installed maybe 5 tweaks. Once I noticed my 3g was slowed down I decided to factory reset my phone and it did nothing to change my speeds back to normal. -Iphone 4 iOs 7.1.2
