I have an Iphone 5 that I tether to my Macbook Pro as my main source of internet. (I live in Kuwait and the telecom infrastructure here is odd). Up until a day or two ago I had no problems with this arrangement but suddenly my internet speeds dropped off. I did a speed test and got scores ranging from 10-20mbps so I was surprised that I couldn't load websites or download anything.

I called my carrier and went in and got a new SIM card at their suggestion but it has not changed anything. Websites load extremely slowly both on my phone and on my computer.

Any suggestions? I've done a network settings reset, airplane mode on/off, cell data on/off, and just about all of the other most basic suggestions I've seen.

TL;DR My iPhone 5 internet is slow but giving me high speed tests. Help.

How would I solve that? It's also messing with things like whatsapp and imessage so I don't know if it's a DNS thing.
