Slow Mac to PC transfer speeds

I have a gigabit network at home connecting all my computers. All with cat 6 cables / router etc.

When transferring from PC to PC the speeds are excellent - -80 to 90 MB per sec.

Mac to Mac is fine also.

PC to mac and vise versa is painfully slow - 1- 3 MB / sec.

PC's are running Win 7 ultimate. Macs are all snow leopard.

WTF is going on??

The problem is that Microsoft violates the rules of TCP/IP in order to speed up SMB/CIFS on Windows, and by default the Mac does not. You can change this:
