Hey there,

I have an early 2008 peryn 2.4 macbook pro. I have it connected to a samsung 205bw, but when i use it with the external monitor, it becomes very slow. Yes, the mac is in clamshell mode.

For example, when I do cmd+t to open a new tab in safari, it can take up to 20 seconds. Sometimes, when loading a webpage, it freezes and I get the multicolor circle for a couple seconds. Everything seems like not going with the slow. I open a finder window, it takes lots of time..it's like the macbook pro can't deliver and in 30 seconds later, everything works in a second...

I have snow leopard installed with the latest update. I use about 100gb of my 200gb space. I have done permissions repair and everything. I have 2gb of memory.

I just don't know what to do.

Thanks for your input!

P.S. When I am using my computer on the road, it seems like the problem is less severe, maybe because the screen resolution is smaller?
