For the past couple of weeks, I noticed that my startup time has increased significantly. I think it started after I did a restart following a software update, but I can't remember what update it was. Normally it's up and running after 30 sec. or so from the "gong" but now it's more like a min. till the OS is up and running. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Oh, have 1 gig of ram from the day I got it.

Try disabling Bluetooth, Airport, any Sharing services, any program that launches automatically, and see if that helps at all. It may be something going wrong with one of those.

Sys Prefs --> Startup Disk --> (Unlock if needed) --> Choose "Mac OS X on *blah blah* --> Restart. :)

All of those are off, and I should have mentioned it before but I tried that system preferences... choose mac osx. It didn't help. Thanks for the input though.
