When I shoot, and then edit a slow-mo video shot in 'Slow-mo' on my iPhone, there is a nice transition automatically generated between the normal speed and the slow-mo (like a gradual speed change).

When I edit a normal video (not shot in Slow-mo), and then edit the speed manually, by splitting the clip, and then changing the speed of one of the clips, there is a sharp transition in speed, rather than a nice gradual change of speed.

Is there anyway in iMovie, to create the nice change of speed between Slow-mo and the normal speed?

Background: I am going to be shooting a lot of video on my GoPro. I will be editing it in iMovie. I want to create the nice effect that recording on an iPhone in 'Slow-Mo' generates, when changing from normal speed to slow-mo speed.

I believe it mentions how to in that link.
