Had the Intel SSD X25-M in for few weeks in my new MBP17 with blazing fast startup and shutdown times...but after three weeks of normal usage the shutdown times increased from around 2..3secs to 25 seconds!!

Doing a fresh reinstall didn't help...just a clean writing of "0" to the whole SSD with booting a Linux CD and doing a "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda"...

Now the shutdown times are back to as before...but probably again for only few weeks?

And yes...there is nothing in the system logs that it's happening something during shutdown...

I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but mine's been slow since the 10.5.7 update. Maybe it's just a coincidence?

Mine is as fast as it was the first day. I'm using X25-M 160GB on uMBP 17" and it's 59GB free now if that makes a difference.

I updated the firmware on the day it arrived...so it's using latest 8820 version...
