Hello everybody, Im a new user on Macpro system but not new user on Apple because I have a Imac 24" aluminiun.
Ok, Yesterday I was trying a Macpro 2,8 GHZ with basic specs ( 2Gb ram/320Gb HD..........), when I tested the speed of the primary system HD the result on speed terms its so slow. My external HD on Raid0 with FW800 is more faster than the system HD.
I think that the system HD ist a 5400rpm with 8 mb cache, this HD its a little crap but maybe the ram system with 2GB will be a nice bottleneck.
What do you think about the HD speed ?

Thank you

i dont know what is a "nice" bottleneck..
but you cannot compare a RAID0 (probably at least two drives) to a 5400rpm/8mb cache drive.
raid0 means you have double the speed of disk, if you put another 320gb/5400rpm disk in your mac pro and set it up to raid0 640gb it will be (in theory) twice as fast too.

but yes, 5400rpm disk is a SLOW Drive.
read up on RAID and drive speed..

Thanks Ploki, When I said "nice" bottleneck is on ironic ;) speak. maybe I put a raid 0 to video editing and this HD to system programs.

Thanks :)
