Slow printing in Apps

i just got a new macbook, and i have been using wireless printing through my imac G5 with my other laptops and never had this problem. but in any app. when i try to print something, it takes FOREVER. as in 10 minutes for the application to process it. so i can't print anything. it just comes up with the color wheel for 5 min. please help

What version of CUPS do you have installed? Btw. CUPS is the Print Subsystem that OS X utilizes.

From your local browser put in this url: http://localhost:631.

Turn web access on in System Preferences if it doesn't respond.

Verify that your Printer configuration meets your requirements.

CUPS version with OS X is not the latest one.

I recently installed CUPS 1.2.2 which is available:

I'd trouble shoot using CUPS web site for more information. When you've read up on it you can upgrade your print system. I'd make sure you also download the latest GIMP-Print Universal Driver Package as well: It's now entitled Gutenprint.

What is the manufacturer and model of your printer?
