I have a 2018 15 inch MBP running 10.14.4. The computer is functioning perfectly normally except for the issue below.
When I click on the wifi icon on the menu bar, I get about a 4 second delay and a beach ball before the list of networks appear. If I want to select any other network or hotspot to my iOS devices, there is a very bad lag with cursor movement. During this time, SystemUIServer spikes to over 100% in activity monitor.
No other menu bar item has this issue.
The laptop connects to wifi (previously remembered networks) just fine when I wake it from sleep (or if I select another network after the bad lag) and functions perfectly normally, and at full speed. The problem is ONLY the actual UI issue of clicking on the wifi icon and seeing a very bad delay. This happens in all locations, office, home and even the car dealer service waiting room last night.
Edit: it also happens if I option-click the wifi icon to see advanced wifi stats.
Thanks for any input.
