Hello
I have a macbook pro mid 2012 and two hard drive one hdd and one ssd. I replaced thermal paste. Now when i turn on laptop fan running full speed. when i turn on laptop to showing macos login page take minimum 5 minuts and fan running full speed. When i login to macos catalina system is very very low means if i want to open safari or any apps when trackpad move very slow and minimum 2 minuts need to open safari. If you want to know what I'm saying, when you connect to server use a graphic server you know very slow to open apps on graphics server. Now my macbook pro same slow working. Catalina installed on my ssd drive. Then i try to make clean install again on hdd. When i press command+R to open recovery page laptop slow running. Need 10 minutes to open recovery. In recovery mode also slow moving trackpad and system. After 5 hours macos catalina installed on hdd. First time i login to new macos system running normal not any slow moving just fan runnig full speed. After i reboot laptop start again system running slow. 10 minutes need to loging to macos. When login to macos system is slow.
then i reboot laptop and press D to check hardware then report problem SMC management system problem code: PFM006
Several time i reset smc but macos slow working
I installed ubuntu on my macbook and Ubuntu working normal not any problem
Please help me
Thanks

(I'm sorry I don't know much English)

i'm not 100% sure but this error is often related to liquid damage, possible corrosion around the battery connector? or it could be as simple as failing SATA cable which is pretty common with this model.

SATA Cable is ok. I install Ubuntu without any problem working
Maybe this problem: i broke the isight cable
Cable cut from logic board
Maybe this problem?
i check for this cable but not available in my country

I try this way and macOs working normal speed :
I remove battery from logic board
And Remove charger cable from laptop
Then i press powet button for 5 second then i put charger cable to loptop
This way macos working normal but fan running full speed and i try with mac fan control to reduce fan speed but mac fan control can’t find cpu sensor to reduce speed
Everything working but fan is problem

Basically I believe this to be because of a faulty sensor somewhere, such as on a cable. Even if the SATA cable seems to work, it’s possible that it is damaged. Or it could be a trackpad cable

when you replaced the thermal paste did you plug in all the sensors?

I did the same to mine (I have the exact same laptop) and mine is running silky smooth.

my MacBook Pro suffered from a drive cable failure. it would lock up every one in a while fo like 10 seconds, and write speeds were like 20mb/s with a samsung 850 eve ssd. I replaced that cable and now I'm getting almost 500/500mb's like it should be.

try using Blackmagic disk speed test to see if the drive is abnormally slow.

I see the what program use cpu
And kernel_task use 300% of cpu
Then I delete IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext
Now laptop work normal
But fan working full speed and with mac fan control reduce speed
But still when i open recovery mode system running slow
But linux distro work prefect on macbook
Now have any way to Mac recovery running normal speed?
