Capturing screenshots on the Mac has gotten very slow recently.

It used to be nearly instantaneous but now it is taking more than 10 seconds for the image to appear on the desktop.

Is anyone else having got the same problem?

Nope... mine are pretty much instantaneous. Try holding the shift key on reboot to boot to safe mode. That will stop any third party apps or utilities you might have running that are causing this.

If that fixes it, let us know then we can help you troubleshoot.

nothing to do, and i still have got the trouble.... no other one is facing the same???

@Weaselboy
I have the same issue of slow screenshot saving. Booting in safe mode did help though!
Do you have an idea what I have to do for the screenshots to save instantaneous in normal mode as well?

Thanks

If it better in safe mode, that points to perhaps some sort of third party startup item or utility you have running that is causing this. Since a safe mode boot stops all those things from running.

You could try running a report in Etrecheck and post the results here for us to take a look. It will show everything launching. Do not run the report while in safe mode, but rather regular mode.

Two things I would try first is getting rid of Clean My Mac completely. That apps causes a lot of people problems. Then quit Opera. It is chewing up 42% CPU just sitting there. See if that helps.

If not, there is no magic or easy way to pin down where the conflict just starting to remove some of those startup or launch items.

Got rid of Clean My Mac. Messed up a few things last time I’ve used it anyway. I have to admit I’ve got way too many tabs open in Opera...
After a restart the screenshot delay issue hasn’t really changed.
However I’ve quite Google’s Sync & Backup (previously Google Drive) just to see what happens, and there you go: instant screenshots again!

I had the same problem. I closed Google Backup and Syne and my screenshots appear instantly again.

Capturing screenshots on the Mac has gotten very slow recently.

It used to be nearly instantaneous but now it is taking more than 10 seconds for the image to appear on the desktop.

Is anyone else having got the same problem?

[doublepost=1552558882][/doublepost]I faced the same problem on MacOS Mojave version 10.14.3.
The reason for this problem is that Mac installed a new program "Keybord Shortcut" and the option "Show Floating Thumbnail" actually causes the 'problem'.

To fix this 'problem':

1. Open the program "Show Floating Thumbnail" via "cmd + shift + 5"

2. Go to "Options"

3. Disable "Show Floating Thumbnail"

4. Exit the program by clicking on the left "x"

In my hands everything works fine since then.
