Slow start up on iMac G4 17" 800Mhz

Just wondering if anyone know's why a 17" G4 iMac with very little on the hard drive would start up so slow. The specs are:

Stock 17" G4 iMac no mods ever done 768 Memory stock 80gb hard drive 800mhz.

The Mac runs fine once its up and running but the start up time is very slow.

Any ideas ?

What have you got listed in your Login Items in the Accounts pane of System Preferences? How about the Startup Items folder on your hard drive (it should come up in Spotlight)? Also, in System Preferences ensure your Startup Disk setting is correct.
