Hi, just bought a brand new iMac last week. Everything was working perfectly until I installed my printer software, and now the Mac is slow to sleep, taking about 30 seconds to turn off. I have researched a bit, and a lot of forums said to check the printer queue, or run a line in terminal.

I have done both things, there is nothing stuck in my printer queue, and I get a bunch of gibberish when I run the command in Terminal. Can someone help me out?

In terminal I ran: pmset -g log

And I got a ton of results back. One that concerns me is:

* Domain: applicationresponse.timedout
- Message: Kernel HP Device Monito com.apple.powermanagement.applicationresponse.timedout 30000 ms
- Time: 6/6/11 6:00:23 PM PDT
- Signature: HP Device Monito
- UUID: 8288146F-C704-4B32-97AD-86C51672D4B7
- Result: Noop
- Response time (ms): 30000

As well as:

* Domain: applicationresponse.slowresponse
- Message: Kernel configd com.apple.powermanagement.applicationresponse.slowresponse 11827 ms
- Time: 6/6/11 5:42:54 PM PDT
- Signature: configd
- UUID: B8A5000F-2638-4ECA-B6C8-4BD4BE3CC9AD
- Result: Noop
- Response time (ms): 11827

And:

* Domain: applicationresponse.slowresponse
- Message: PMConnection mDNSResponder com.apple.powermanagement.applicationresponse.slowresponse 11706 ms
- Time: 6/6/11 5:09:45 PM PDT
- Signature: mDNSResponder
- UUID: B8A5000F-2638-4ECA-B6C8-4BD4BE3CC9AD
- Result: Noop
- Response time (ms): 11706

Can someone please tell me what this means? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Also, a couple of times I have put it to sleep, it turns back on a few minutes later.

060611 6:22 pm: I just uninstalled my printer and it goes to sleep instantly, like it did before. In order to have a printer do I have to deal with the slow sleep time? Or is there a way I can have both my printer and faster to sleep? I have a new HP All-In-One Wireless printer, never had any issues with it on my PC. Also, it printed fine from the Mac, no troubles there.
