land of confusion
I think this should go here in this forum.

So I ordered an SSD from OWC for my MBP 2010 and installed it and used Carbon Copy to clone the drives.

It really nice and much much quicker. With the one exception of waking from sleep.

After I put in my password, the SSD can take up to 12 seconds to boot into the desktop. It used to be much quicker than that with the old HD.

Is this normal?

Check the console logs for repeated error messages on wake from sleep.

Interesting article and thanks. My MBP honestly is more of a desktop machine. I think I have been on solely battery power twice in the 6 years I have owned it (in hindsight should have just gone with the IMac).'

In the comments to that article someone posted how to turn hibernation mode completely off. I may just go that route.
