I am on an aluminum iMac, running 10.5.8. I use Comcast as my ISP and use a Linksys WRT160N router. Now the problem. A few days ago while doing an insternet speed check, I noticed my upload speed was nowhere near what it used to be. I currently have around 2000kbps when I originally had around 8000-10000kbps. My download is unaffected. Any ideas?

Chances are, it's the people around you using cable.
Cable's speed is shared by many people. If other people are using it (neighbors using cable etc...) your speed will suffer.
I hope that answers your question.

That's possible, but fairly unlikely. We have a WEP setup to protect the network and the router password has been changed from admin. And non of hem seem that tech savvy...

He means they are just using cable, not hijacking your network. As far as I know cable speed is affected by other people using it in you area, right?
