I've just been performing a backup and restore on my iPad air 2 ( because I was getting issues multitouch not working and apple said to do this)

While doing this I noticed it seems slower to transfer data compared to my iPad 4.

e.g to restore an app sized 26.2MB it took 13 seconds on my retina macbook pro.

So thats only about 2Megabytes a second?! Has anyone else found the same?

It's a 64GB wifi only iPad air 2.

All my apps transferred pretty quickly.

hmm maybe i have duff memory on my iPad then?

just tested again using stopwatch to start when iTunes says it is installing Viewranger ( 7.2MB) and it took 4 seconds until it said it was installing the next app so that makes 1.77MB/s

It took about 10 minutes for 51 apps to transfer to my iPad, so that's about 12 seconds per app, about the same as you were experiencing OP. But I had several large apps like Asphalt 8 and iWork apps.
