After doing a speed test with my mothers Nexus 7 and my iPad Mini this is what came up..

What could be causing her nexus 7 to be lapping my iPad Mini on the same wifi network? I reset network settings and there was no change at all.

is HTTP Proxy set to off or auto in settings > wifi > yournetwork (press the i)

Try restarting your router. I understand the nexus doesn't have issues but restart your router anyway and then try again.

Thanks Armen! This solved my issue. Quite odd that it only acted quirky with the iPad but it works great now. Appreciate it.

Sometimes a router acts weird with 1 device while it's fine with all the others so you start second guessing the device and not the router. Anyhow, glad it worked out for you.

I routinely restart my Airport Extreme when things behave weird on 1 device regardless if the others are working properly.
