Slow wi-fi transfer and Apple TV streaming

Hey guys, I have a 3 year old Linksys Wireless G router and when I used wi-fi sync or streaming my content from my iPhone/iPad with the Apple TV, I find it very slow. For example, I cannot stream the videos taken on my iPhone 4s to the Apple TV, I have to wait for it to buffer for 2-3 minutes before I could play them. Same with wi-fi sync. It could take around 5-6 minutes for a 700mb movie to transfer from my computer to my iPad (it takes less than a minute with the USB cable).

Is it because of my old router? Do I need to invest in a new 802.11n router? Thanks.

This is because of the wifi transferrate.

Most routers are very slow. There was just a review on Cnet.
