I have two laptops here at the beach and am connecting to a wireless network. My Thinkpad has download speeds of 4000K + and the Mac 512K at best-upload speed comparable(tested on same speedtest website). Put them side by side and went to same websites and the Mac noticeably slower. Any ideas? Mac is brand new Macbook pro.

PC laptop working great-Mac slow

Ditch the D-Link.

D-Link and Linksys seem to have problems with Macs (and a lot of PCs for that matter). Try and get hold of a Netgear.

Get an Apple router if possible. They work the best in general and probably the best with macs.

I have an Apple Airport Extreme (g) and when I go to my mother's house where we have a Netgear, I do notice a difference - albeit negligible for most surfing.

Oops. Feel like a dumbo-was commected to another network. Hooked into mne and am flying!
