I have 17" MBP core duo that I've had for about 10 months. I've notice for the last couple of weeks, that when I start the computer it takes longer than it did before. And the App icon is bouncing up and down in the dock for about 15 - 20 seconds. I run OnyX regularly. Any ideas what's going on?
thnx

What app icon is bouncing up and down for 20 seconds? Is it doing this during startup, or only after you've launched it?

Have you installed any additional software recently?

We really can't help you if you don't give us adequate information about the problem.

Perhaps, reading this will give you a better idea how to help us help you.

I'm sorry for the confusion...
If I click on finder - then in the left column - it's the icon for applications.
When I start up my computer that icon appears in the dock and is bouncing up and down for about 15 -20 seconds and then dissappears. Could there be a problem with an application I downloaded - and, if so, how do I find out which one it is?

It sounds as if Finder is missing some files now even though it sounds as if it's working.

Have you run Disk Utility to verify that the "Macintosh HD" is okay and that the permissions are okay?
