sluggish grid stack, help!

I am just wondering if there is anything that can fix this small issue.

I have a grid stack for my applications, there are quite a few in there, 30 maybe? Its usually fine for a little bit, then it starts getting sluggish. Dropping frames while opening.

I am running a unibody macbook pro 2.4core duo, with 4 gigs of ram
