Smackbook on Powerbook g4 Help!!

I have went through the tutorial for installing smackbook on my powerbook g4 on this site: http://cnettv.cnet.com/?tag=hdr;snav

and I change the line of code in the smack.pl file but when I initialize it through terminal it give me an error but when I dont change the line of code it says it works but doesnt. Help?
