I have discovered that the compass is not really accurate in my iphone 4. I already try to calibrate it by waving in a figure 8 pattern but it's usually off by about 45 degrees. Could I have a bad unit? Would doing a full restore fix the problem? I try to compare to the mirror compass i have in my car (which I know is correct) and it's usually always off. any suggestions? thanks

i now notice that it's usually only inaccurate when in the car. but when i'm walking outside, it's pretty accurate. my previous android phone never had a problem with its compass in the car though. is it just because the iphone 4 uses a different technology for its compass? can anyone help? thanks
