Small screen and small keyboard recommendation for Mac Mini

Hi,

I am getting a Mac Mini. I am very excited. I have not had one before.
I would like to get along with it a small screen and a small keyboard.

The small screen is because I'll also be using the Mac Mini with a larger
screen and larger keyboard at a friend's home.

How small? It can be as small as between 11" and 13", but I would consider
smaller and larger options.

I don't have the answer as to a "small" screen.

But I'll make a prediction:
After you get used to using the large display at your friend's,
You're going to want a larger display AT HOME, as well.

Think about that...

Didn't know they sold screens as small as 11" and 13" any more - are they the USB-C powered laptop style ones that people tend to use on the train? Most desktop displays (eg Dell) now are 22" upwards and more typically 24" and start at 1080p resolution.

For your usage, a laptop maybe the 2-birds, 1-stone.

You can set up an iPad to use as a secondary screen via Mac's Sidecar app, for when at your friend's place. Save yourself some additional bucks by seeing what's in Apple's own online Refurb store - found buried in the fine print at the bottom of their Store's webpage.
That would certainly cover the screen size you're asking about, though as noted above by Fishrrman, you'll likely discover you'll want a larger screen when at home.

In my case, when I moved to using a Mini as my home computer (from a MacBook Air), I still didn't want a setup that would overwhelm the space. I went with a 21" Acer screen and the small Logitech 380K keyboard (which is capable of being connected via Bluetooth to three devices - so far connected to the Mini and my iPhone).

I'd go with Amazon over Ali Express every time... I have a 15" portable LCD that I use with my Mac on occasion, and it works like a champ.
