Chocolate wouldn't necessarily have to have fat in it though. Cocoa butter is widely regarded as one of the worst things you can eat but cocoa can be refined to remove the fat and keep the chocolate. After that it can be added to something like skim milk and maybe mixed with a bit of sugar and served hot...

There i preliminary evidence that dark chocolate increase the function of the endothelial cell wall of blood vessels. The effect lasts about three hours. Moderation on the amount is needed. In the study the amount was 3.5 ounces. It also effects seratonin in the brain to elevate mood.

I guess the function of my endothelial cell wall of blood vessels must be all the way up there - should have been at the Olympics... ;-)

I'm a Registered Nurse, so have a working knowledge and interest in health. In the study they used 3.5 ounces as the effective amount. So if it continues to prove out other studies, you can eat the right amount of chocolate and not really get fat. A usual its all in moderation.

Good news to come home to.
A new iMac and chocolate served by wdlove.
The moderation thing, something to briefly consider.

This winter folks, try a large cup of steaming hot cocoa mixed with some Amaretto liqueur. It earns a few quick points with the gf and is always best while served under a blanket.

i feel so tortured! due to what appears to be acid reflux, my doc told me to stay away from chocolate due to the caffiene....BAH.

My wife has a severe case of acid reflux. She said that chocolate and caffeine used to bother her. She is taking Nexium. Are you on Nexium?

Red wine will also help the heart, but in moderation 1 - 2 glasses per day.

OK, just to make sure, I'll consume 35 ounces at a shot.

The effect lasts about three hours.
OK, I'll take a dose every 8 hours around the clock. In fact, just to make sure, let's make it every 6 hours.

Moderation on the amount is needed.
Sorry, I wasn't listening to that part. :)

i am actually on prevacid. same general stuff.
it's been helping, but yea...caffiene and chocolate are the worst...i stopped caffiene, that hurt bad, the withdrawal was worse then the symptoms.

and alas, i am allergic to red wine.
guess i'll just have to focus on eating well.
