Apple really took advantage of extra space by giving everyone a better camera and larger sensor in every iPhone 13 which is the actual reason it was made smaller. Gaining screen space was a happy circumstance, but not the reason it was done.
They don’t care about the top notch. They like it and see it as a distinctive feature. The new MacBook pros validate that.
