Hi all,

I've had a 5.1 surround sound system for ages using a windows USB sound card (Philips) and basically its not very mac-friendly and isn't compatible.

Is there a Mac alternative? Preferably in a smallish dongle size as I'm buying a MBP to use as my main system soon.

Its the ones with 3 wires (green, black and orange).

Thanks all!

I did search Google (thats the first thing I always do) however a US retailer is useless to someone in the UK ;)

I just really need recommendations. I cant believe there is no decent 5.1 USB or firewire soundcard that is mac compatible and sold in the UK!

Doesn't the audio output already support 5.1? Correct me if Im wrong, I have no idea, but I just keep hearing about digital/analog being combined in the audio output jack..

If it is you must need some kind of special adapter as 5.1 uses 3 plugs
