Here's an article at eWeek about a current project being built using Smalltalk, whose idealism is found today in Objective-C and Java.

Yeah, Newtonscript was heavily inspired by this language. Too bad I finally sold my Newton 2 years ago ;-) What should I program on when these languages become popular again
