Anyone who has a smartcover with their iPad 2 can you chime in and let us know if these things scratch the back of the iPad where they attach?

From the videos on how they attach it seems like they would bang up the case pretty good after taking it off/putting it on multiple times.

I've taken mine off several times and no scratches.

The first time I tried to attach mine it ended up flipping around and sticking to the front bezel. Thankfully no scratches resulted and it's been working and attaching smoothly since.

Is it "better" than the original ipad case. I.e if you could would you take the original case over the smart cover. It would be of course made for the ipad2

As cool as the idea of this one is, I'd still rather have the original Apple Case redesigned for this iPad.

How does it feel when its folden to the back. Like the "old" case.
Well it feels ok actually. I don't like that it doesn't stay in place though, you have to hold the edge to keep it from flapping down so holding it with just your left hand isn't all that great. Unless you fold it up so that the camera is free to take pics, then it's ok.

It's pretty sturdy in the two tilted modes for typing and/or the upright position.
