Question, do you guys find that the back of your iPad 2 gets scratched up, either in use, or carrying it in a bag, etc., with the smart cover?

No. I got a Gelaskin for the back. Looks good, adds grip, and protects from scratches. Gelaskin plus Smartcover = the best combo EVER!!!

I'm going to get a smart cover for my new iPad 3, but I'm going to look for a hard plastic shell to protect the back of it, like the cover buddy.

the smart covers are the worst crap apple ever produced. they offer no protection and are ridiculously over priced. when i bought my ipad2 last march at best buy i bought one for protection until i could get a smart leather cover/stand which i did. the case from roo is wonderful. i will get one for the ipad3 too.

I haven't had any problem with my caseless iPads getting scratched. Hell, my 3 year old MacBook Pro barely has any and I certainly don't baby it.

you've noticed it but you don't know if it's true?

Good point--thanks. What I mean to ask, how easy does it get dirty? And furthermore, is it easy to clean? I'm asking particularly of the leather ones too.

I bought a cheap imitation online for temporary use until more cases for the iPad 3 is released.
