Smart folder sync

Hi everyone,

I use Picasa and not iPhoto to manage my photo library and I was wondering if one could set up a smart folder to sync all pictures from the last three months to an iPhone or iPod touch. I created the smart folder but iTunes is not letting me choose this folder for sync. Is there any way to get around this problem?
