Hello,

I cannot figure out how to add this field to smart folders. For example, the 'Yesterday' folder that appears in the finder sidebar. I accidently deleted the settings, and I want to add that 'None Of The Following Are True' to include Folders, but for the life of me, I cannot add that type of field??

Can someone help?

Thanks! MD

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure, what you want to achieve, but does a Smart Folder with this criteria fit your needs?

Set Kind to Any, to include everything (also folders).

Hey Rupert --

Thanks, but I'm trying to exclude things from a smart folder. For example, I want to see all files from yesterday except for stuff from my backup folder. Inherently, there is a field between that says 'None Of The Following Are True" Check out search properties under the 'yesterday' smart folder, for example.

I just can't figure out how to incorporate this to other smart folders.

Thanks! MD

Hi,

Ok, as you create a Smart Folder (ie do the Finder Spotlight search) hold down the alt key. This will turn the plus icon into a ... icon, allowing you to add multiple conditions.

In the added conditions pick None of the following are true and go on with the conditions you need (maybe set Name - matches - Backup).

I hope this makes sense to you and is what you looking for.
