Hi all,

I currently use my iPad as a kind of laptop quite often, with a quite janky solution involving a K380 and my current ESR case (it’s cheap but not the best). Therefore I am thinking of getting a keyboard case for my Air. The two I’ve been thinking of are either the Smart Keyboard or the Combo Touch - the Smart Keyboard seems expensive and does not have a trackpad, whereas the Logitech is cheaper and does, though I have a Magic mouse 2 I can use if I need mouse input. I like the slimness of the Smart Keyboard — I have heard the Logitech is chunkier by comparison. Which would you recommend (and if there are any other solutions please let me know 😁)?

I ended up getting the Smart Keyboard for the Air yesterday morning - it‘s really good :)
Just beware, it’s not very durable if you open it numerous times daily. Mine is falling apart after 1 year. I just requested a warranty replacement and it arrives this week. I may sell it amd seek an alternative.

I JUST replaced my Smart Keyboard with the Combo Touch. The Smart Keyboard first started draining my battery 10% per hour while in standby so the iPad would be dead each morning unless on charger. Then it started making the iPad heat up A LOT whenever attached. Then I started receiving notifications that the USB accessory wasn't supported. And finally it bit the dust altogether.

It's in perfect shape. I can only imagine it's due to opening/reopening. I can't see the Combo Touch doing this because it's designed differently.

The Combo Touch is definitely chunky but I'll trade that for the addition of the trackpad and better durability.
