I'm trying to create a Smart Mailbox that filters for multiple senders in the inbox. The problem is that each sender seems to be its own condition and inbox seems to be its own condition, so I can't screen for "all" conditions. Any recommendations on whether I screen for any of multiple senders in the inbox?

What you do is you create a total of two Smart Mailboxes:

1. One of them (we'll call it 'Multiple Senders') filters for multiple senders using the 'any' modifier, and makes no mention of any Inboxes.

2. The other one (we'll call it 'Multiple Senders in the Inbox') uses the 'all' modifier with 2 conditions — one being the other Smart Mailbox, and the other being 'All Inboxes'.

You can then utilize just the second Smart Mailbox ('Multiple Senders in the Inbox') for your needs.

Great thanks!

And do you know if there is any way to show the number of items in the smart mailbox like you would for an inbox with unread mail?

If you're referring to the badge showing the unread count on the Apple Mail icon in the Dock, you can set this by going to Mail > Settings > General > Dock unread count. I'm still on Sonoma but hopefully that option is still there in Sequoia.
