Forgive me if this was addressed, and after I combed the threads. I didn't see any....

Question:
If I was to buy factory unlocked iPhone.
If any future firmware upgrade. Would that brick my iPhone? or will it do no harm.
I would like to know from those that bought unlocked iPhone?
Thanks,
P

A factory unlocked phone is just that: unlocked by design. Why would they be selling unlocked phones if they were to brick themselves?

So the answer no.

Thanks for your answer.
But I guess my next question would be.

(I hope I am not sounding stupid asking questions...but to me knowledge is power)..anyway...
How come Apple is allowing selling unlocked iPhone? After all, they are getting kick back for every new contract with AT&T?

They get payment for the subsidized price. If you are paying full price for the phone, Apple is happy.

Unlocked iPhones will not be for sale in the US. Some countries have laws that require them to be offered unlocked, so there will be unlocked iPhones sold somewhere in the world... for an outrageous price.
