Hi

I am enjoying my set of Google Home Minis and also looking forward to playing with the Homepods I have ordered.

But today I have noticed something rather silly about these so called "Smart" speakers and believe its not just limited to the Google Home.

I set a timer on my kitchen speaker and it only notifies my from there. There is no option or setting to notify me on my Living Room speaker.
So if I want to set a timer for when my pizza is cooked I either have to be in ear shot of the kitchen speaker or set it on my phone or living room speaker, which seems counter intuitive.

How is this smart? Or even better than using the digital timer on my oven?

I hope this is something Apple is going to be able to handle with handoff with iPhone/Apple Watch, but I don't have much hope as setting a timer on my watch only notifies on watch and nothing else. However my iPhone works the opposite, so there is some home.

What are everyone else thought?

My guess is that in the initial revision of the software, it'll work like your Google setup, but a software update later on will make the behaviour more like what you want - I doubt you'll get it straight away since stereo isn't even ready yet
