Hi guys,

Went out this afternoon and came back onto MacBook Pro to find when I lifted th lid I could only see black apart from my cusor. I turned it off via the power button and got 'the grey screen of death' - ive booted up the install disk and go onto disc utilities.

As the thread title - I have the smart status as read/write - what does that mean please?

Should I try clicking repair disk at all?

Thanks!

Cheers for the quick reply! Ive hit repair disk - the little progress scroll bar is doing it's thing at the mo - fingers crossed!

On disk utilities - what is the disk0s2 meant to say? It's greyed out on mine and says not mounted - normal or no?
