Smart TV Screen Share

Hi, I’m a newbie here.
Used to have a MacBook Pro and making a decision on coming back to Mac. I’m looking at getting a 2015 Refurb MacBook Air. A couple of question, is it easy to upgrade to latest iOS? And I currently have a Samsung Smart TV. Would I be able to share screen wirelessly with this model of Air? (Without additional apps, software or hardware).

Upgrade is simple (just a click in App Store) and to share screen your Samsung must be from at least 2018 since Air Play 2 is required (don’t know other way to do it). You can check for compatibility here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00082643/

Thanks. I have a 2019 Samsung TV so that is compatible. Just wondered if the MacBook Air was compatible too.

Since Air Play 2 is an Apple invention, the answer is yes (all newer macs have it and it is backward compatible with Air Play 1 I believe, which older macs have).
