Compelling view, but he misses his own point:
The "Aunt Sues" of the world wouldn't know an iPhone from an Instinct from a Voyager from a Dare.
They will simply buy from whatever carrier they normally use. A lot of people have gone through several carriers and found one that has the coverage they need, and all the App Stores in the world don't matter.
