Smashed my glass on my iPhone 3GS (I'm in the UK)

Hi,

As the title says I smashed the glass on my iPhone 3gs by dropping it (ooops!). I did have insurance, but it was on the original phone (iPhone 3G) which I took out with o2. I bought a PAYG 3GS and assumed it would cover whatever phone I was using - it doesn't!!!

So I have to pay to get it repaired. I noticed lots of sites offering the service, but I will be without my phone for a few days which I can't do as I need for work.

Anywhere I can take this while I wait in Manchester - pref south.

I guess to take to Apple do I need to set up a genius bar appointment - will they fix while I wait?

Not sure if Apple will repair just the glass. They would probably make you replace the whole phone for 200 bucks.

Replacing just the glass is more involved than replacing the the whole front face (lcd, glass, etc). Some places you can buy the whole top face and its easy to swap out.
