Hello,

I have a patched Apple TV that streams videos from an external drive that is shared on my iMac via SMB. Since I set it up however, I have noticed that some of the videos can not be played on the Apple TV, or for that matter, any of my other computers that connect to the SMB share via the network.

The videos in question play fine on the iMac that hosts them as does the Apple (TV when they are stored locally), and the laptop that I connected to the SMB share has the same codecs on it as are installed on the iMac. I have yet to determine a pattern between the videos that do not play. Some are AVIs, some are MP4, etc.

I'm scratching my head here, as all Quicktime (and the ATV) tells me is that the "video format could not be read." Has anyone else experienced this?
